We arrived at the port of Cairns and then headed north to Port Douglas along one of the most picturesque coastal roads in Australia.

We next boarded a boat for a cruise to Low Isles, an unspoilt atoll consisting of two islands nestled like precious gems in the Great Barrier Reef lagoon.

We anchored in the stunning protected lagoon of Low Isles, where we then took a glass bottom boat to view some of the coral in deeper waters.

After a nice buffet lunch on the ship we put on our Lycra stinger suits and jumped in for a snorkel. We were lucky enough to have a marine biologist snorkel with just Robyn and I. She showed us two turtles, a reef shark, parrot fish, giant clams and so much more.

Finally we had a tour of Low Isle with another biologist. Just four of us were on this tour and it was very informative on how the island formed and how they protect it.
