Today we ported in Kobe and took a one hour drive through the city on our way to Osaka, We drove over many bridges and passed Universal Studios Japan on the way.

When we arrived in Osaka we went to the Sumiyoshi Shrine. Founded in 211, it enshrines three gods that are believed to offer protection for sailors and to bring prosperity. A gracefully arched bridge spans a pond to the main building. We were lucky enough to see a traditional Japanese wedding taking place as we were there,

Next we visited the Osaka Castle which is Osaka's leading historic and cultural landmark. Osaka Castle was constructed in 1583, the castle was erected on two raised platforms atop a towering stone foundation to protect the ruler from sword-wielding samurai. It was stunning architecture and is recognized as of one of Japan's most iconic landmarks,. We walked eight flights of stairs to the top for a 360-degree views of Osaka.

Pur final destination was to Osaka's City Center called "Dotonbori". Here we had sushi to celebrate our "Tonaversary". We had sushi and enjoyed the shops and people. It was a stereotypical Japanese city street just like you see in the movies.
